AMERICA'S WORST BIGOT AND IT'S NOT DAVID DUKE!
June 18th 2008 01:48
I'm surprised that college campuses across the country haven't put up on their bulletin boards their worst offenders of "political correctness." Having worked at a very presitigious women's institution that practiced the art of this social evil to a perfection, I can't deny the fact I came within nano-seconds of seeing my mug and offending remark plastered all over the campus, and not just on one occasion. Let's just say it's located in southwestern New England and it's not the West Point of Feminism: Smith College.
But, ohhhhh, do these ever so englightened bastions of fair-minded progressive thinking roll out the red carpet for the next fellow I'm about to introduce. And he's a full-fledged BIGOT, and a full-fledged denier of this, which of course leads me to wonder if he should be on some medicine as well.
No white sheets. No brownshirted goons. Nothing of that sort. Why to look at this worm of a person, you'd never even think of him as being so odious--untill he opens his mouth. Then all the marbles of hatred roll forth. Only sad to say, most of his marbles are reserved for the Catholic Church.
Who is this individual? Why none other than BILL MAHER, who, according to Bill Donohue, President and CEO of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, is "America's Biggest Bigot."
I'm going to leave you with a few choice sample quotes and let you decide for yourself if ABC's former host of the dumped "Politically Incorrect" late night talk show merits Donohue's description. I'm sure you will, unless you can think of somebody even worse. God help us all in that case.
November 10, 1999 on "Politically Incorrect":
“The synagogue—and I’m not Jewish, but I was raised Catholic—was never as corrupt as the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church, which is people, not God running it, OK, hugely corrupt, did horrible things through history, maybe...because they were that powerful.”
(I could offer more quotes, but it's best that I don't. When I first posted this link, I took it for granted that Bill Donohue wouldn't post Maher's worst comments. However, I guessed wrong. It's one thing for Donohue who follows a calling to expose an shame the worst of worst anti-catholic and other bigots, but I'd better be more careful. So if anyone saw this post earllier and was offended, my apologies.)
Doesn't that remind you of the old "Look I don't hate such and such, I'm an equal opportunity bigot" line? This kind of stuff doesn't even fly in locker room conversations anymore, but Maher gets away with it and laughs all the way to the bank -- but he's thinking the joke is on us.
Let's see who has the last laugh by putting this bum out of business.
And oh, an old friend of mine, a well-renowned professor who was the only man to have ever won Pulitzers in both history and poetry, once said "anti-Catholicism is the anti-Semitism of college professors." And to think that ex-catholic benedict arnolds like Maher make millions of dollars pulling this stunt off with impunity.

February 4, 2008, on “Larry King Live":
"They accuse me of being a Catholic bigot. First of all, I don’t have it out especially for the Catholics. I think all religious are coo-coo. OK? It’s not just the Catholics. I’m not a bigot. Just because I wish for the demise of an organization that I think is entirely destructive to the human race, that doesn’t make me a bigot. I also wish for the demise of Hamas and the KKK. Not that on every score the Catholic Church is the same as those two organizations. I’m not a bigot because I root for their downfall."
