It's time to put the North American Man-Boy Love Association, more commonly known as NAMBLA, or even more commonly hated and despised as on of world's worst supporters of perverts, "Kiddie Porn" producers and other unspeakable acts out of business by declaring it a Terrorist Organization.
That would put it on a level with al Qaeda, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas, etc.
For once, however, I'm going to give our Islamofascist enemies a break and decide to put NAMBLA even lower than our sworn foes abroad. At least the Islamicists are dead set against the scummy behavior and views supported by NAMBLA. The attacks of 9/11 were carried out in part because of Osama bin Laden's (quite justifiable hatred) of this aspect of a free "western civilized society." He warned us in his Fatwa issued during the mid 90's.
bin Laden was particularly complaining about the volume and rapidity of this swill of kiddie and other degrading porn being pumped through the internet across the globe in mere seconds. We dismissed him because we thought he was just a crazy Islamic radical. "Hey, we're a solid Christian nation. We have good safeguards," and so forth. Dream on I say and so did bin Laden.
Perhaps I shared this story before, but it bears repeating, particularly given the time line of the Curley case and bin Laden's Fatwa. I'm not saying what follows has any direct link with either of the other two; but the timing and our social attitudes reflected back then showed how badly out of touch we were with the ugly realities around us.
Back in the mid 90's I was working for Mount Holyoke College's Library. One day a past-Head Librarian put out a sort of "food for thought" article she got over the net about the Clinton administration's desire to put some kind of devices in library computers to keep kids from looking at smut. Never the most circumspect guy, I responded in defense of the Clinton Justice officials, (also remind other readers that it wasn't "censorship" in the classical sense of the term that I was seeking, but some protection for kids from porn which has been known to psychologically mess people up. I'm not going to discuss the obvious morality behind the administration's goals. Obvious, right? (Dream on, Barrett, your learning curve about your freedom of speech to defend an innocuous act was about to be forever altered.)
A fellow library staffer (and German native) jumped all over me, instantly demanding me to submit my resignation immediately. Nobody who works in a library should ever besmirch such an institution by advocating the least amount of censorship. Not even on behalf of national security issues? No! Not even to protect kids from sickos? No! Nothing? Absolutely nothing. No slack whatsoever. Well I didn't lose my job then, and he went back to the Fatherland. But my head was full of swirling ironies thanks to a lifetime of memories and a childhood, of which a part was spent in Germany where my dad was part of the American Air Force stationed there to keep the real masters of censorship at bay.
It wasn't in the least bit pleasant knowing somebody was out to rip you to shreds in every fellow employee's computer screen. I "pushed back" on the screen, and it went back and forth for a few days, until the boss had enough and it came up in a meeting, during which I simply sat and smirked as others stepped up to remind this representative of the land of Goebbels that we believe in free speech, which includes the right to freely say, "enough is enough" when it comes to areas that don't merit full freedom of disclosure.
Somewhere along the line in our social development the most absolutist people were those who would defend almost to their deaths the right to denounce with impunity others who simply couldn't stand to see the guardrails of a free society torn down to suit the deconstructionism of a miniscule number of extremely selfish uncouth goons.
In case anyone has any doubts as to the enormity of the problem dealing with sexual child abuse, then they should read the linked article "Child Porn vs. Child Protection"
by Janice Shaw Crouse appearing in today's Townhall.com. Pay close attention to the paragraph dealing with the arrest of a Homeland Security Department employee (of all agencies) and the outrageous NAMBLA inspired and defended sexual abuse/murder of little Jeffery Curley, of Cambridge, MA.
I remember the Curley case pretty well. It shocked all New England and it was one of those emotional heart-ripping events that left the Boston area in particular, not only on edge for their kids, but also for their justifiable anger that not only such an unspeakable crime couldve been committed -- but that there'd be people to defend the "men" who did this boy in.
Read Crouse's description of the kidnapping and murder. Then look at this boy's picture and ask yourself if you don't think NAMBLA shouldn't be considered a terrori st organization, if not at least a Fifth Column of sorts. They aren't just a "new england" outfit. They're everywhere. And as for the kiddie porn merchants, they're part of the "adult entertainment industrial sexual slave complex," a multi-BILLION dollar empire of filth, degredation and exploitation. It's primarily based in Southern California and Southern Florida, where it receives so many young victims either pulled off of our streets or imported as "party girls" from the Ukraine and Russia, in addition to thousands of girls shipped into Florida through a pipeline of flesh smuggers operating on the state's less developed Gulf coast and Panhandle.
If anyone objects to my injection of "morality" here; well, then that's his or her problem, especially if they're speaking up for the ACLU. It's time for them to punt, esp. on this NAMBLA garbage they've been defending far too long. Walk away, now!

Wow, I was only a Deputy Clerk in a Fed. Dist. Court Clerk's Ofc., MA corr. counselor; FL-DOC prob/parole officer, and eventually certified paralegal. I'd better get ready. But here's a "few" (lol) "additional takes."
The ACLU, much like the WWII era Japanese military that adulterated the older and nobler Samurai Warrior/Bushido Code into an all-out cover-to-cover excuse for every war crime they could pull of and fell on the same sword; -- has taken its former sword of seeking to ensure that all of us are granted full freedom of expression within reasonable limits to an all-out-cover-to-cover excuse to defend the most disgusting people on the face of the earth.
And now that they're falling on it, they're squealing for all the bad publicity they've brought upon themselves. The ripple effects for the kinds of crimes committed by the people they defend may never stop expanding, at least in our lifetimes. After all, it's not unusual for the victims of sexual predators to join their ranks because of the alteration of their once innocent minds and souls due to the damage crimes like these can inflict on their sense of self-worth. That doesn't excuse their acts, but it sure explains why these things keep happening over and over, esp. if they don't get treatment in time and the perv/perps are brought to justice in timely fashion without their absolutist defenders of the indefensible standing proudly by their sides, smug with the self-satisfaction of thinking they've done some good for society overall. Why some ACLU lawyers might even see their defense of these indefensible clients as even "patriotic."
Good luck telling any of the families of our service men and women who've come back in boxes or minus limbs because our enemies see this garbage the ACLU sees so fit for defending on legal principles, and "shipping abroad" at the click of a mouse;at least. I wouldn't go so far as to accuse the ACLU or other related First Amendment absolutists as Fifth Columnists, but the words blind dupes surely come quickly to mind.
This scourge is so widespread, deeply entrenched and complicated thanks in part to narrow-minded "freedom at all costs" absolutist-minded lawyers, academics, even some clerics and certainly some pundits and bloggers just don't seem able to see the much wider picture which also includes related drug abuse by prostitutes and porn "actors"/producers to drown out their mental, physical and emotional pain, the crime that hitches along that -- and I shouldn have to spell this out -- and the enormous costs of running so many agencies to help bring these many victims of what the absolutists are willing to tolerate as the price we have to pay for "free speech."
Like so many manic depressives undergoing the manic phase of either excessive fixations or grandiose naive notions -- which often are the driving forces of these fixation periods, these free-speech absolutists seem utterly unable to stop where they are, look around and deeper too to see exactly where they're taking others because of where they simply remain bullheaded about going.
They're being lead by a long chain with a ring in their respective noses (representing the scandalously huge sexploitation slavery plantations) perhaps out of fear that they won't be able to raise funds save for these contemporary slavers. Well, did they have to represent the Nazis' march through Skokie among other "causes"?
They've come along way from the days of Charles Darrow and the Dayton TN Scopes "Monkey Trial." Darrow had a valid case (as well as Wm. Jennings Bryan,) but many people aren't aware that Bryan's worry was less with evolution as it was with "social Darwinism" which has led to so much misery in terms of mass social and labor exploitation. It also contributed to the Final Solution. Social Darwinism has misled man to think he's nothing but a pound of flesh, cells and neurons, a mere piece of material matter. And is it too much to ask if deconstructionism, massive widespread negativism and industro-commercialized nihilism aren't too distant? Think of where these have taken us to.
Darrow's argument was much narrower, but to his credit, even he recognized the larger picture his opponent was trying to warn us about. And if he were alive today, I doubt for a moment he'd cheering this NAMBLA bunch on, much less filing anything more than a piece of used toilet tissue for that bunch. Ironically enough, Darrow would probably be championing the rights of the so-called Creationists to freely present, or make accessible their materials w/o sanctions from local school committes which on many social issues seem more inclined to represent the views of their (natural) bargaining adversaries, local teachers' unions, belonging to the excessively ideolgical NEA.
Evolution threatens my value system in the least. I'm lukewarm about "creationism," but "Social Darwinism" (which wasn't even Darwin's idea to begin with!) should scare the living hell out of any rational thinking human being on earth, atheist, theist or agnostic. It has led to Dachau, Kolyma, Cambodia, Screbenecia, Rhwanda and Darfur. It has led to the many tortured defenses of Roe v. Wade, and it has led to the mass sex and other forms of slave labor exploitation pipelines and cartels -- and all because people were suckered into believing anything can go, basic standards of conduct are relative, if that much anymore, and humanity itself is a "human construct" of dubious value, worthy of re-thinking, recalibrating and re-writing all of human history for the sake of reducing man to a mere pound of flesh, not even worthy of establishing legal defenses for himself and loved ones because of an absolutist bitch goddess Baal of free speech trumps all.
As for that German expert on free speech who wanted my former boss to click her heels and have me summarily fired, I wonder if he ever wishes that the Weimar Republic had as many restrictive laws against race-baiting as his present-day Germany has now. Nicht. He's too removed, pampered and oblivious to even imagine what his parents, grandparents and certainly great grandparents suffered through thanks to a relative lack of necessary restrictions.
He can even blame the Allies for the deaths and damaged we inflicted all he wants to deaf ears for all I care. And from personal memories, I can remember seeing much of the after-effects. On the other hand, people who allow their leaders to rip up their constitutional rights so they can rebuild their nation and turn it into a war machine, then use that machine to start wars and conquer other nations, much less obliterate their populations on social Darwinist calculations, have no damn right in the world to a say in how those wars end or should've ended.
Hopefully he'll remember this, at least six million more Jews and four million or so more Gentiles would have lived longer lives and died with greater dignity.
Unfortunately, we do allow for the defenders of NAMBLA, etc to have a legal and civic say in how these proceedings are handled. That's not saying that in any way, shape or form we should be overly soliciitous in making granting any accomodations for these absolutists. Strict adherence to legal procedures is all they deserve.
On the other hand, their lawyers, absolutist "free speech" advocates, extreme libertarians, pundits and their own clients in particular, should have no moral say as to the final outcome of the horrific crimes against nature, man and God they've committed. They started a war against humanity in their own neighborhoods. But they deserve no say outside of basic legal procedures insofar as to how it'll end.
